May 9-11, 2016
Organized by Kris Stanek and Julio Chaname
In partnership with CCAPP, the Astronomy Department is hosting a three day workshop, held May 9-11, 2016 in Santiago, Chile on Catolica's campus. This workshop will send OSU researchers to Chile to meet with members from the Institute of Astrophysics of the Pontificia Universidad Catolica de Chile.
The main goal of the workshop is that all the collaborators meet again and continue to learn about each other's scientific interests and expertise, brainstorm about ways to build on each other's strengths and institutional partnership.
CCAPP supports frequent small workshops aimed at doing interdisciplinary research in cosmology/astro-particle physics.
CCAPP will fund local expenses (and often subsidize the travel for more junior researchers) for qualified scientists with common interests to visit CCAPP for a mini-workshop, lasting from a few days to a week. The organizer takes care of the rest!
If you would like to submit a proposal to run a mini-workshop, an on-line applicaion
